The Implant Concept
The basic idea of this implant system was to make its use in everyday dental implant practice activities as simple as possible, without having to forego/waiver implant-based indications/protocols or its surgical application thereof.
Ease of use in surgical protocols as well as their prosthetic restorations was the guiding light in the development of this implant system.
The experienced surgeon saves time and the beginning surgeon grasps the surgical procedure rather quickly once imparted.
It was an absolute priority that the systems components were to be easily identifiable and even easier to handle.
The implant design is a two-piece endosseous, threaded, screw-type, direct-drive, self-tapping, cylindro-conical tapered body dental implant device, made of titanium grade T4 CP each of these attributes having proven themselves worthy over decades of use, hence having become “golden mechanical” implant standards.
The material, the design, the incorporated features and an experienced dental implant surgeons choice of approval. all are a dedicated manufacturers
The Meoplant implant is characterized by three 120°, off-set, self-tapping spiral threads that flow from the apical into the crestal region of the implant body.
A perfectly matched drilling protocol for all bone densities insures a minimum insertion trauma, attaining a maxim of primary stability, even in soft cancellous bone.
A progression thread with a flat pitch and axial milling requires less insertion effort, thus ensuring preservation of bone stock for the subsequent osseoconducive healing phase.
Another special feature of the thread design is the “shovel-shaped” cutter ending range that harvests bone chips of a defined size, much like a bonescraper compacting them inward, toward the implant axis.
This way vital bone cells are directly present at the implant surface and it is through this uniform compaction, that a greater boney-wall-apposition, hence increased primary stability is achieved – yielding a greater rotational security and osseointegrative potential.
The Surface
The patented CoaguBond implant surface, well-proven and documented by countless studies, is a product of a specific blasting method, facilitating a defined grit/particle size, at a defined pressure, at defined spray angles, a defined rotation speed all working together in harmony for a defined time interval.
Subsequent thermally controlled acid-etching baths provide for a further surface preparation, eventually yielding the sophisticated CoaguBond surface topography.
Dental Implant Surfaces
Successful osseointegration not only depends on implant design and material selection, but is also sig-nificantly influenced by the properties of the implant surface – which is an essential prerequisite for the long-term success of endosseous dental implants.
The biological behavior of the implant surface is defined by its topography and chemical composition.
